No prior knowledge of Maple or computer programming is assumed, the reader being gently introduced to Maple as an auxiliary tool as the concepts of nonlinear science are developed. In addition, numerous annotated examples are sprinkled throughout the text and also placed on the CD.

Nonlinear Physics with Maple for Scientists and Engineers

An accompanying set of experimental activities keyed to the theory developed in Part I of the book is given in Part II. These activities allow the student the option of "hands on" experience in exploring nonlinear phenomena in the REAL world.

Beoordeel zelf slecht matig voldoende goed zeer goed. This book was quite solid overall. Sometimes the questions asked go far beyond the methodology and theory taught. It also is hard to tell sometimes if you've gotten the right answer, as there are no answers in the back of the book.

In certain sections the theoretical derivations were a bit limited. Create citation alert.

The books provides a good introduction to the field of nonlinear science. In the first part of the book the authors present a well written theoretical description of nonlinear phenomena and modern analysis methods.

Maple 15 (Differential Equation)

The examples in the text are chosen from many different phenomena in nature and range from biology and medicine to physics, including the selection and evolution of biological molecules, electronic oscillators, the beating heart, snowflakes, Hamiltonian chaos, the rings of Saturn and others. An introduction to the usage of Maple is provided by the authors in the book.
