Over the next months, I helped Ron see that he was indeed called to ministry, but this did not mean he had to dismiss all that God had done in his life for the past 30 years. Ron quickly left this ministry he had moved his family to join and came on staff at our church as the evangelism minister. He started a free Kung Fu and Tie Chi ministry for the community and began going door to door sharing the gospel and inviting people to the church to learn martial arts.
During the break time, Ron would share a short Bible study and invite the class to church. He tied his martial arts to biblical truths and required Scripture memory in order to advance in belts or rank. In addition to mastering the martial arts skills to advance to the first belt, Ron required that the students memorized. It was a regular occurrence for Ron to share about who had come to a saving faith in Christ from his classes. Today Ron is back in the Northeast using his martial arts to minister in church planting and prison ministry.
He was called to ministry, but God did not intend to waste all the years Ron had invested in his training and business so that he could sit at a computer, God simply wanted to reorientate Ron and his wife, Angela, to take their gifts and talents for His kingdom purposes. When you understand that you are called by God, it may simply be that God wants you to take your training, experience, and the things you love and use them to serve Him in our world.
Are they a special group of persons? What about my life? Am I called too? How would I know?
1, 2, 3 John and Jude by Henry Blackaby, Richard Blackaby, and Tom Blackaby - Read Online
What would it look like? I do belong to You!
I am Your servant, and I truly want to serve You. But Lord, am I really called to be on mission with You in my world? Lord, just who are the called? All are called! The difference is not whether we are called or not, but in the nature of the assignment given by God.
But every believer is one who is called by God, for Him to be free to accomplish His purposes in them and through them! Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine.
And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. ExODUS —6. He said they would be a kingdom of priests — not a kingdom with a priesthood. Each and every one of them would be priests unto God. The Levites would be the ones assigned to train and equip the entire nation to walk with God as priests unto God so He could fulfill His purposes to save the nations of the world through them.
CALL TOLL FREE
This same truth is stated in the New Testament. You also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
Notice how Paul addressed the people of the church at Rome. Through Him we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for His name, among whom you also are the called of Jesus Christ. Yes, it was for obedience to the faith. There is little question that those who receive salvation from God have at the same time released themselves to obey the call that comes from faith. They go hand in hand.
When you received Christ into your life, did you understand that at that same moment you were releasing your life to be used anyway that God would choose? Yes No Maybe. As you have lived out your Christian life, describe how you have released your life to God for Him to use to accomplish His purposes.
Each believer is called of God and is to function before God and a watching world as a priest unto God. God, therefore, promised that He would enable every believer to function this way by the empowering presence of His Holy Spirit.source url
Series: Encounters with God
Read 1 Corinthians — What does the Holy Spirit know about the things of God? As you live out the call of God on your life,.
As He provides for your life, the Holy Spirit has been assigned to help you recognize and experience all the provision of God for your life. According to these verses, what are the qualifications to be called of God? Have you ever excluded yourself from service to God because you did not feel qualified?
Based on this passage, do you think that God could and does desire to use your life in His kingdom? Thought for the Day There is no separation or distinction in the call of God between those recognized as leaders and other Christians; all Christians are called to a saving faith, and in this call, all must release their lives to God for His purposes. This includes your life too!
The first letter of John was written to help a church struggling under the influence of a heresy very similar to Gnosticism. The letter contends strongly that Jesus is both fully divine and fully human. It also proclaims that right belief goes hand-in-hand with right conduct and that true faith produces love, forgiveness, and effective prayer. This action might not be possible to undo.
